About Karen

Karen Gonzalez, owner of Kinesis The movement Studio, is also a trained Physical Therapist and President of Therapeutic Interventions of West Florida, Inc., a rehabilitation company that provides home-based therapy to Medicare recipients.  Karen, who started that business in 2004, is also a subcontractor for multiple home health agencies, providing direct care to patients throughout Pinellas County.For more than a decade, she has provided services to Community Rehab Associates, where she has been involved in evaluating and treating children and adults with developmental disabilities, orthopedic and neurologic conditions in their homes. A graduate with a B.S. Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Philippines in Manila, Karen has also been a Rehab Director of skilled nursing for several years.

A Certified Level 5 Ki-Hara Master Trainer, a resistance stretching technique designed to stretch and strengthen the body, Karen is also a USATF Certified Level 1 Track and Field Coach.  She is a former guest lecturer for Physical Therapy students and CEU classes for healthcare professionals at St. Petersburg College.

Karen is a former Metabolife Team Trainer and has spoken to numerous audiences on running injuries.  She is currently an Exercise Consultant.  She is a Physical Therapy consultant for a local track and field club, Blazin’ Ravenz Track and Field Team, an organization with members ranging from 8-18 who are being groomed for state and national competition.  Karen also heads ‘Run with Coach K’, a web-based running club she designed to inspire beginning runners with smart training techniques that enhance their performance and help prevent injuries.

Karen’s life work is to drastically improve quality of life as she strives to push the body to work beyond expectations. She is able to examine and identify areas of concern in the body, then skillfully utilize techniques to increase mobility and function as pain and impairments decrease. Through hard work and determination from the patient and the therapist alike, Karen believes in achieving freedom of the body and that there is a win in every inch of mobility gained.
